Queensland's leading material handling equipment company has won its tenth national Toyota Material Handling Overall Excellence Award.
Toyota Material Handling (QLD) has claimed the award 10 times in the last 11 years, including the last four years in succession.
The latest Toyota Material Handling Overall Excellence Award recogniss excellence in all aspects of Toyota Material Handling (TMH) branch operations in the calendar year 2008.
Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) President Steve Harper says TMH (QLD) had set the benchmark for excellence for the whole TMH network in a highly competitive national contest.
"To win 10 awards is an achievement by any standard - but to continue to win and improve for over a decade is simply outstanding," he says.
TMH (QLD) is the official South Queensland branch for the Toyota Industrial Equipment, BT Lift Truck and Raymond Forklift product ranges, as well as Toyota's range of Huski skid-steer loaders and towing tractors.
The branch previously won six consecutive Toyota Industrial Equipment Dealer of the Year awards (the previous title for the Toyota Material Handling award) from 1998 to 2003.
The General Manager, Northern Region, of TMH, Dan Williams says the experience, quality and commitment of his entire staff is the key to the business's continued success.
"Sixty out of our entire staff of 96 are technicians and apprentices, so customer support is the heart and soul of the operation," he says.
"We have great people and we've made sure we retained them. We now have 25 people on the staff with more 10 years' service.
"Sales growth has been impressive too. In 2004 we delivered 552 new machines in total and in calendar year 2008 that more than doubled that to 1200 new machines," he says.
"Since our amalgamation on 1 July 2005 of the Toyota Industrial Equipment, BT Lift Truck and Raymond Forklift brands into a one-stop-shop facility, we've been able to offer our customers even greater support.
"We now offer the largest range of forklifts and warehouse equipment in Queensland. In fact we can provide a total solution for material handling needs - any needs our customers have in this area, we can supply.
"In addition to the forklift models, we have always been strong in sales of Toyota Huski skid-steer loaders."
TMH (QLD)'s service vans cover a wide area of South Queensland, serving customers as far north as Rockhampton, west to Roma and south to the Tweed River.
