Groeneveld automatic greasing systems on all vehicles has increased service intervals to 50,000 kilometres and minimised the cost of parts and equipment downtime to keep GTS competitive.
GTS is a family owned business established in 1980. Today it has become one of Australia’s largest wine industry transport logistics and warehousing operators.
Based in Mildura, North West Victoria, the company has over 120 B-Double prime movers and 250 Tautliners and trailer combinations.
Ten per cent of the GTS fleet operates within the Sunraysia region, while the remaining 90 per cent works in high utilisation shuttles and interstate line haul.
Australia wide Director, Damien Mathews says the company's goal is to achieve optimum equipment utilisation, environmental care and occupational health and safety systems that meet the reporting expectations of customers, while providing a safe work environment for staff.
“Our Kenworth, Freightliner and Volvo prime movers travel between 100,000-400,000 kilometres a year," Mathews says.
"We use synthetic oil and the Groeneveld automatic greasing systems on all vehicles to increase service intervals to 50,000 kilometres and minimise the cost of parts and equipment downtime,” said Fleet Manager Angelo Rodi.
“We have a continuous vehicle replacement program, so it is critical that vehicles meet our high standards and are maintained correctly.
"Parts wear has been significantly reduced due to the Groeneveld system, so when the vehicles are due to be traded they are in excellent condition with no need for major overhaul.
"We can work them right up to their last day.”
Mathews says GTS has been able to maintain its margins in this competitive industry and this proves that keeping trucks fully utilised is a key element for a successful transport business.
“Our standards and expectations are high, so we expect the same from our suppliers. Groeneveld and our other suppliers fully meet our needs in this area.”
