The SCLAA National Forklift Competition finals are now only weeks away and all contestants will be moving pallets and cages supplied by CHEP Storage Systems in Melbourne.

Over the last six months the SCLAA have been busy hosting heats for the driving of both counter balance and reach trucks in all states to select the top male and female operators in Australia.

The finalists will have the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills on 2nd April at the National Safety Show in Melbourne.

This competition continues to grow in strength and is now being supported by many of the large corporations including Woolworths, Toll, Qantas, Coles and many others.

Trevor Webb and Angela Molloy, last year’s national champions, will compete against the finalists from this year’s heats against the national loadshifting standards while driving the latest Hyster forklifts.

There will be two novelty events in the final to ensure that you need some luck as well as safe operating practice to move things around a warehouse or distribution system.

The SCLAA wishes to thank CHEP for their contribution and involvement.

If you are interested in competing in this national competition or have some staff members who have the skills to be the 2009 National Championship finals contact the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia by phone: (02) 9487 8794 or email: nsw@sclaa.com.au
